Take a trip down to the auto part store and buy some good value suds.

High-quality cleansers have a perfect blend. They’re formulated to clean your car while protecting the paint. Household cleaners like dishwashing liquid have ingredients that draw the oil off your car’s finish.

If used consistently, you’ll notice your coat begins to lighten, changing the color of your car. They also do a number on your decals. Not cool when you’ve found decals that fit a Toyota Tacoma perfectly.

2. Do-It-Yourself Rim Cleaner

For less than $5, you can have your rims looking they’ve been professionally cleaned. For a big batch, mix 1 cup of baking soda and 2 tablespoons of dish soap to 4 cups of hot water.

Use an old toothbrush or cloth to scrub each headlight. Let the mixture sit for a bit. Wipe it off with a paper towel or light cloth. And like magic, your headlights will look like new.

5. Coffee Filter for Dusting

Depending on the size, dusters don’t always get into the nooks and crannies to get the dust. For those odd-shaped spaces on the inside of your car, use coffee filters.

Coffee filters are cheap, light, and easy to handle. They’re also disposable. Use both sides, then toss it when you’re finished.
