All-New Peugeot 2020 Range: What You Need To Know

Peugeot is raising the stakes in the battle for market share in 2020, unveiling all-new models across its entire range. Smarter styles, more advanced tech and new electric options are just some of the highlights to keep an eye out for this year.

The French car maker covers all bases with its all-new 2020 range. From hot hatchbacks to a crossover SUVs with kerb appeal, Peugeot is looking to demonstrate that it has something for everyone. And, with it, lay down the gauntlet to its rival manufacturers.

Here are some of the highlights from the all-new Peugeot 2020 range:

New 208 and e-208

The all-new 208 has already made a major impact as Peugeot’s new contribution to the small hatchback. It saw off competition from models such as the Tesla Model 3 and Porsche Taycan to be named European Car of the Year 2020.

The award certainly recognises the strides that Peugeot is taking with this sublime supermini. Inside and out, there are refinements and improvements galore. The external design alone is a radical step-change from the previous edition – something that is sure to get the 208 noticed.

Inside, the 208 has a more premium feel with the inclusion of Peugeot’s 3D i-Cockpit, with HD colour touchscreens and 3D digital instrument panels as standard. Of course, you can expect a wide range of safety features too – such as Drive Assist and Active Safety Break.

The e-208, meanwhile, is the brand’s first all-electric vehicle for eco-conscious motorists.

New 2008 and e-2008

While Peugeot’s SUV range has been dominated by the 3008 and 5008 in recent times, the all-new 2008 – and its all-electric variant, the e-2008 – are now hard to overlook and overshadow.

A refreshed exterior includes an iconic front grille and horizontal balance, while dimensions are now 14cm longer than its predecessor. It promises more space for passenger and luggage alike – the boot space now 434 litres or 1,044 litres with the seats folded.

This impressive new-look crossover SUV also comes packed with class-leading tech and safety features – 3D i-Cockpit, MirrorScreen, Drive Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and more.

With the 2008, you can choose from a 1.2-litre petrol engine or 1.5-litre diesel engine. But you also have the option of the all-electric e-2008. Powered by a 100kW motor and 50kWh battery, the e-2008 has a range of 206 miles under WLTP testing.

New 508 SW

A stylish, yet practical family estate reveals itself in the form of the all-new Peugeot 508 SW. It represents an evolution of the 508 Fastback from saloon to estate car. But the extra space isn’t achieved at the expense of the chic look enjoyed by the Fastback.

With this additional space, however, the 508 SW delivers more boot space and more headroom for passengers in the rear. In essence, it promises the comfort you’d expect in a grand tourer.

Like all new additions to the Peugeot stable for 2020, the 508 SW comes with 3D i-Cockpit tech – as well as MirrorScreen functionality and a premium Focal sound system. There’s also a plug-in hybrid option to choose, which promises to save as much as 40% average fuel consumption.

With a raft of external upgrades and internal refinements, the all-new Peugeot range for 2020 offers food for thought. Not only does it offer fresh choice for the consumer, but there is much to think about for rival car brands who are certain to face stiff competition from these models.
