Supercars away from the track: Lewis Hamilton and other F1 Drivers still drive fast cars!

Whilst Formula 1 drivers will mostly be known for driving some of the fastest and most expensive cars around some of the world’s most famous race tracks, there will be many that are interested in knowing what kind of regular cars the very best drive.

When we say regular, we do not mean the kind of cars that will be seen regularly on the roads, though, as F1 drivers still have plenty of money available to them to be able to purchase some of the best supercars on the market.

Here, we take a look at what the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen and many other of the top Formula 1 drivers currently drive as their ‘everyday’ car.

Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton might be the favorite with Indiana Unibet to win the upcoming 2021 Monaco Grand Prix as he continues to set motorsport alight with his racing abilities in the Mercedes he drives, but it seems he has a love of cars when off the race track as well.

The multi-time racing champion currently has a Pagani Zonda 760 LH, with the car having been made specifically for him. The supercar is emblazoned in a beautiful purple wrap that shines brightly when the light reflects off of it, however its performance is something that has left Hamilton questioning it at times.

Having spent £1.6 million to have it created, the 760 brake horsepower vehicle that can go from 0 to 62mph in less than three seconds, is one that he has criticized as he has claimed it has the worst handling of all the cars he has had.

Sebastian Vettel

Former Ferrari F1 driver, Sebastian Vettel also has a Ferrari as one of the luxury cars that he drives on a regular basis.

Of course, the German currently races for Aston Martin at the moment, has been known to drive the Ferrari California T model regularly out of his vast collection of supercars.

The car, which is thought to have been worth around $230,000, has a twin-turbo V8 engine and can reach a top speed of 196mph thanks to its 552 brake horsepower. The car is not quite as rare as Hamilton’s Pagani Zonda, but Ferrari only produced the California T range between 2014 and 2017.

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen appears to have kept things rather modest when it comes down to his day-to-day car, as he continues to drive a Renault Clio; however that is more down to the fact that nostalgia plays a huge role in why he does.

The Belgian-Dutch racing drive continues to emerge as one of the best F1 racing drivers on the circuit at the minute as he continues to challenge for Red Bull Racing, and at only 23 years of age, motorsport fans will see a lot more of him in the future. Verstappen is an incredibly talented driver as he started F1 racing at 17, but had not passed an actual driving test until he was 18!

Whilst he recently bought a $400,000 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, he continues to drive the Clio as it is the vehicle in which he learnt to drive and has since kept.

Lando Norris

Imagine what it must be like to be gifted a $211,000 supercar after passing your driving test. That is what happened to Lando Norris as he was gifted with the McLaren 570S Spider once he was legally able to be on the road.

Of course, it will have only happened because of the fact that the young F1 racing driver currently races for McLaren, otherwise he might have to have had stuck with a rather modest Volkswagen until he made his money as a driver.

The McLaren 570S Spider features a brilliantly bright orange coloring, so those on the road will be able to see him come from a mile away.
